Exhibitions
When you visit us here in Fiolstræde, we have a range of exhibitions you can see. Almost all exhibits are in English as well as Danish.
The History of The University of Copenhagen
This exhibition gives an introduction to the more than 500 year long history of the University of Copenhagen. The exhibition can be seen in the niches of the library’s ground floor – look for the red poster boards.
The University Library in Fiolstræde
In this exhibition we present the creation of the library building and its unique architecture and history. Also described is the Museum building which can be seen from the windows of the library buildings left side. Look for the yellow poster boards.
The Nobel Prize
This exhibit is a presentation of the Nobel Prize and the academics with a connection to the University og Copenhagen who have received the award. The exhibit can be seen in the hallway between the shop and the entrance to the library hall itself – look for the green poster board.
The University of Copenhagen and society
On the first floor in the library hall you can see this exhibition where there is described selected people and events from the University of Copenhagen who have left their mark on the university and on Denmark. Look for the green poster boards.
The First Women of the University of Copenhagen
In this exhibition you can read more about some of the women who wrote themselves into the history of the University of Copenhagen as pioneers. The exhibition can be seen on the first floor, next to the exhibition about The University of Copenhagen and Society – look for the blue poster boards.
Shifting exhibitions
There are regularly new exhibitions in the library hall. At the moment we have dedicated one of the niches on the ground floor to an exhibit about Medical Museion, which is also a museum under the University of Copenhagen.
