Simon Paulli

The Paulli collection consists of works created by several scientific illustrators – Albert Cordts, Poul Jørgensen, and Bodil Rohweder – possibly more, but unfortunately, most drawings lack signatures for secure identification.

These drawings were especially created for anatomy professor Simon Paulli (1865-1933) and particularly for his Lærebog i Huspattedyrenes Anatomi, a textbook on the anatomy of domestic mammals, 1914, with supplementary drawings for the 2nd edition 1919 and 3rd edition 1936.

The final edition was published by Paullis' successor as professor of anatomy, Eduard Sørensen (1898-1972), with several new drawings and color plates created by Poul H. Winther (1898-1966).
