J.L. Mansa:  Udkast til Hauge-Anlæg i den engelske Smag ...  1798

Johan Ludvig Mansa (1740-1820) was trained as a gardener in Germany and came to Denmark 1762 where he became gardener at several of the palace gardens. Mansa was preoccupied with the new style of gardening at that time inspired by the natural landscapes and he published 1798 this first pictorial work in Danish as a catalogue of ideas showing the new options by establishing new gardens and by changing previously baroque gardens. Mansa was responsible for rearrangements of palace gardens  from baroque to landscape style at the parks at Fredensborg, Frederiksberg, Frederiksborg and Marienlyst.

The library has the same work in a French edition.
