The University Library in Gothersgade is moving - the study spaces remain

After the summer break, the University Library at Gothersgade 140 will move to South Campus. You will still be able to use the study spaces in Gothersgade, and there will also continue to be local library services at SAMF.

​​​​​​​​​​​​On 1 September 2026, the University Library will say goodbye to Gothersgade 140 and move to South Campus. Going forward, the address will be Karen Blixens Plads 7.

When the University Library vacates Gothersgade 140, the approximately 350 study spaces in the building will be retained. The study spaces will remain open and accessible to students until the rest of the faculty moves to South Campus.

Continued Local Library Services on City Campus

Up until the relocation on 1 September, you will still be able to speak with University Library staff at Gothersgade 140.

From 1 September, a new local library service will open at CSS. It will be located in the former premises of Academic Books on the ground floor of Building 7, room 07-0-46..

Here you will be able to:

  • pick up and return physical books and other materials
  • access course and semester literature
  • speak with a staff member during opening hours
  • receive teaching and guidance in information searching and information literacy.

You are also very welcome to use the University Library at South Campus or at any of the other campus locations.​
