Meet Bonnie Frisendahl, head of department at KUB South Campus

Bonnie Frisendahl has taken up the position as head of department at the Copenhagen University Library, South Campus and KUB City on August 1 2024. Bonnie held a position as head of department at KUB North and Frederiksberg, but she has returned to the humanities where she was educated. We present a small interview on this occasion, where Bonnie shares her visions for the libraries.

“The most important thing for me is that the university library is a close partner for research and education here at South Campus. And that we create an even more vibrant library environment to the benefit of the students," says Bonnie Frisendahl. “In our everyday lives we meet the students in the study environment – at the campus library, at the departmental libraries, and as teachers and supervisors.  We work for equal access to information literacy and digital literacy. And we continue doing so. But we would like to cocreate more with the students when it comes to the use of collections and study environment. The library is a natural “third place" where you meet with your study group, and where library services and collections support the students' everyday life and well-being.

Bonnie held a similar position at the Copenhagen University Library, North and Frederiksberg. “I have had the pleasure of working with the STEM disciplines at the University of Copenhagen and Novo Nordisk respectively since 2013. Now I'm looking forward to change focus to the SHAPE disciplines where I am educated in a good mix of Comparative Literature and Information Studies. A lot is happening e.g. with the digital methods in the humanities, social sciences, and law, and I'm looking very much forward to that the university library can take part in this development.
