The Library Introduces New Access to Digital Materials
You must now always log in to soeg.kb.dk to access articles, e-books, etc. via the Royal Library.
We have upgraded our library system to a new, more secure access solution for articles, journals, e-books and other digital materials.
You should therefore review all your saved links to articles and e-books.
For you as a student, this means two things:
- From the beginning of February, you must always log in to soeg.kb.dk to access e-books, articles, and journals.
- Old links that contain fjernadgang.kb.dk in the URL will stop working.
The new solution provides more stable and secure access. However, this also means that automatic access via IP address will no longer work. You must therefore always log in, whether you are at UCPH, at the library, or at home.
Update Your Links So You Don’t Hit a “Dead” Page
To avoid problems after February, you should already now check and update your links to literature before the old links are phased out.
In particular, check:
- Your own collections of article links (e.g. in reference tools or personal documents)
- Reading lists in the assignments you are currently working on
- If a link contains fjernadgang.kb.dk, it must be replaced with a new permalink from soeg.kb.dk, for example: https://soeg.kb.dk/permalink/...
Update Teaching Materials and Reading Lists – Old Links Will Be Phased Out
If you are a lecturer, remember to update all relevant teaching materials before the old links are phased out. This means that older links to articles or books containing fjernadgang.kb.dk will stop working.
The new technical solution provides better security and more stable, long-lasting links.
The library recommends that you start doing this now. In particular, review:
- Reading lists and semester plans
- Links in Absalon and other learning platforms
- Teaching materials (slides, course readers, assignment guidelines, etc.)
- Reference tools and your own link collections
If a link contains fjernadgang.kb.dk, it must be replaced with a new permalink from soeg.kb.dk, for example: https://soeg.kb.dk/permalink/...
